David E. Schweighoefer Joins Firm and Will Chair Health Care Practice Group

 

Day Ketterer Announces Continued Expansion with New
Health Care Attorney and Practice Group

January 12, 2018 – Day Ketterer announced David E. Schweighoefer, Esq. has joined Day Ketterer and will chair the new Health Care Practice Group. Mr. Schweighoefer counsels health care clients on regulatory compliance, insurance contracting, employment contracts, and acquisitions and mergers. He is knowledgeable in Stark Law Compliance, durable medical equipment (DME) anti-kickback compliance, as well as HIPAA risk analysis and security breach protocols.

Schweighoefer is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio and is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is also an active member of the Ohio Hospital Association, American Health Lawyers Association, and Society of Ohio Healthcare Attorneys. He has numerous published articles on health care law, policy, managed care, and reform. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Schweighoefer is an adjunct professor for Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where he teaches courses in Fraud and Abuse, Health Care Law, Psychiatry and the Law, and HIPAA. Prior to practicing law, Schweighoefer served in behavioral health administration roles including, Regional Director at The Cleveland Clinic and Chief Operating Officer at Mount Sinai Health System.

Schweighoefer is the co-founder of Emergency Medical Services Outreach Fund of Hudson and serves as the Vice-Chair Publications, American Health Lawyers Association, Behavioral Medicine Task Force.
