Day Ketterer Adds Attorneys in Hudson and Canton Offices

Day Ketterer is pleased to announce that Thomas C. Holmes and Jilliann L. Armstrong have joined the firm’s offices in Hudson and Canton.

Holmes has joined Day Ketterer’s Hudson office as a member in the Education Law Practice Group. Holmes has 15 years’ experience representing public sector clients, particularly schools, in various legal matters.

“Tom Holmes has a significant practice and strong statewide reputation in education law,” states Robert E. Roland, Day Ketterer managing partner. “He brings in-depth experience and knowledge to the Day Ketterer school law team, which is well known for providing solutions to the complex legal issues schools face every day. Tom will enhance our attorneys’ ability to work as a team with schools throughout Ohio.”

Maria Limbert Markakis, chair of Day Ketterer’s Education Law Practice Group, adds, “Tom Holmes has built trusted relationships with educational institutions throughout Ohio. We look forward to expanding our education law services to help ensure continued success for Ohio’s schools.”

Holmes has represented public school districts, educational service centers and community schools in various student, labor, employment and contractual issues. Holmes also has advised public entities in collective bargaining agreements, strike preparation and management, workers’ compensation matters, construction and real estate matters, and public records and open meetings laws.

A skilled litigator, Holmes has served as lead counsel in every aspect of the litigation process, participating in hearings, trials and appeals before Ohio trial and appellate courts and the Ohio Supreme Court.

Prior to joining Day Ketterer, Holmes was a partner with Pepple & Waggoner. He has a juris doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Holmes is a resident of Aurora.
