Day Ketterer Attorney, Paul Hervey, Appointed to OSBA Judicial Election Campaign Advertising Monitoring Committee

Day Ketterer announced attorney Paul Hervey has been appointed by the Ohio State Bar Association to the Judicial Election Campaign Advertising Monitoring Committee (JECAMC) for a three-year term ending in 2021.  The JECAMC is tasked with monitoring the advertising for Ohio Supreme Court elections and speaking out against those that impugn the integrity of the court or attempt to lead people to think a candidate might decide a case in a predetermined manner.

The JECAMC was formed in 2002. Since its formation, all Ohio Supreme Court candidates have been encouraged to sign Canon 7, the committee’s guidelines. JECAMC then monitors each campaign.  In 2016, all four Supreme Court candidates signed the pledge.

Hervey is completing a three-year term on the OSBA Board of Governors representing Stark, Tuscarawas, and Carroll counties.  Hervey is also a past president of the Tuscarawas County Bar Association and is on the finance and bar admissions committee of the Stark County Bar Association.
