Lori Hess

We previously featured award winning artist, Lori Hess.  She is a Signature Member of the Ohio Watercolor Society. Primarily self-taught, she has studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art and at seminars with internationally known painting instructors Charles Reid, Judi Betts, Jean Grastorf, Joseph Fettingis and Jean Uhl Spicer. Her work is predominately watercolors and most recently in water based oils. A member of the Hudson Society of Artists, she participates in fine art shows, volunteers her time to teach art in local schools, teaches painting workshops and private classes.

 The Cleveland Art Association purchased two of her paintings as part of their collection. "For me the process of designing, simplifying and dramatizing my subjects is what I love," she explained. "Capturing light and creating an enhanced reality are my goals with each piece."

Lori has exhibited and won awards in shows with the Hudson Society of Artists, the Medina County Art League, and the Ohio Watercolor Society's First National Watermedia Exhibition at the Canton Museum of Art. Her work is part of the 2009 Ohio Watercolor Society Annual Travel Show and will travel throughout the state through 2010.
