Hudson Artist Lucy Karslake
Previously hanging in the DK Hudson Office Art Gallery was award-winning artist Lucy Karslake. She is best known for her architectural renderings in pen and ink. Her drawings and paintings are in thousands of homes and offices in the United States and abroad. She also paints in other mediums and her printed works include note cards, Hudson calendars, a Hudson poster, limited edition prints and book illustrations.
A 35-year resident of Hudson, Lucy obtained her masters degree in Educational Media from Kent State University and studied with artists Lowell Elsworth Smith, Don Getz, Sue Kissack, Fred Graff and Judith Carducci in Ohio; Stan Dudek in Illinois; Joe Cox in North Carolina; Revington Arthur in Chautauguq, New York; and Earl Ertman in London, England. Following her retirement as a second-grade art teacher, Lucy is now a full-time artist and President of the Hudson Society of Artists. She also holds membership in the Crooked River Gang in Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Cuyahoga Art Center.
Currently, she shows paintings in the Hudson Society of Artists Clothes Line and Midwinter Shows, as well as the MD Garage in CVNP. Her work has been recognized with awards in the local Midwinter Show and the ACMC Fine Arts Festival Shows in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
