Merle (Trace) has 27 years of commercial litigation experience and aggressively defends national insurance companies and international manufacturers on coverage issues, products liability claims and intentional torts. Trace was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and was named by the pulication as "Akron Best Lawyers Insurance Law Lawyer of the Year" for 2012.

Trace is a member of the American, Ohio and Stark County Bar Associations and his professional affiliations include the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys and the Defense Research Institute, Inc.

He began his tenure with Day Ketterer in 1983. He is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and its litigation practice group.

He is admitted to practice in Ohio Courts and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio.
