Karen is one of two litigation paralegals at the firm who assists the attorneys in their litigation work. She is primarily responsible for researching, analyzing, and managing the daily tasks for cases. Karen also drafts pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and gives assistance to the attorneys in preparing for document production, depositions, hearings, and trials. Her duties as a Workers Compensation paralegal include preparing files for hearing at both the administrative and appellate levels; drafting and filing continuances, suspensions and motions; conducting research with regard to prior claims and medical histories; obtaining, reviewing and analyzing claimants' medical records; and coordinating independent medical examinations.
Karen began her tenure with Day Ketterer in March 2007. Prior to joining the firm, she was with a Cleveland law firm that focused on large case litigation and business transactions.
Nancy Martin
Trust & Estate Paralegal

Nancy is one of two probate paralegals in the firm and supports the attorneys with trust and estate administration. She assists in the management of estate files, prepares inventories, accounts, income tax returns and estate tax returns.
Nancy began her tenure with Day Ketterer in 2007, coming from a firm in Western New York. She has over 20 years experience as a paralegal in New York and Pennsylvania.
E. Ann Mieir
Probate Paralegal

Ann is a probate paralegal and is primarily responsible for estate and trust administration and Medicaid work. She prepares income and estate tax returns and assists the attorneys with their estate work.
Ann began her career with Day Ketterer in 1980. She has more than 24 years' experience in the legal field, including legal secretary for two law firms in Missouri.
Kimberley Vandegrift
Litigation Paralegal

Kim is one of two litigation paralegals at the firm, and supports all of the attorneys in their litigation work. She primarily gathers and reviews medical records and conducts research, in addition to locating witnesses and interviewing clients. Kim is the primary liaison between the attorney and the client, and ensures that the attorneys are well prepared by organizing and summarizing files.
Kim began her tenure with Day Ketterer in 2002. She came from a local law firm where she was a paralegal for eight years.
Tracy Welsh
Probate Paralegal

Tracy is a probate paralegal and is primarily responsible for the estate and trust administration and the distribution of assets. She assists in the preparation of estate tax returns and assists the attorneys with their estate/trust work.
Tracy began her career with Day Ketterer in 2008 after working independently with Attorney Umbaugh since January 2002. She previously was in sales, sales training and sales management.
