Paul N. Edwards
With over 30 years of experience, Paul Edwards is well respected for his extensive knowledge in the areas of corporate law, securities, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust, franchises, private equity and public finance. A deal maker, his clients benefit from his in-depth understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley and investment management compliance, sophisticated corporate fiduciary duty issues and stock-based mergers and acquisitions. He regularly represents governments and government agencies, real estate developers, underwriters, financial institutions, credit and liquidity enhancement providers, borrowers, trustees and purchasers of tax-exempt and taxable bonds. Paul joined Day Ketterer from the Cleveland Firm of McDonald Hopkins LLC, where he was chair of the Securities Law Practice. His legal knowledge complements the Firm's Business, Transactional, and Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Practice Law Groups, positioning Day Ketterer to handle more sophisticated corporate deals and public finance transactions. Prior to his private practice, Paul served as in-house Senior Finance Attorney and Assistant Secretary to a multi-billion dollar public utility holding company and was Special Counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. A strong supporter of education, he also taught securities and corporate law at Ohio Northern University's Pettit College of Law. Paul practices in areas such as:
