Richard W. Arnold

Rick has more than 20 years of experience advising individuals and businesses in Stark County and elsewhere in northeast Ohio in all aspects of estate planning, succession planning, business law and taxation. With a previous background as a CPA, he is able to counsel clients on complex legal matters while keeping in mind the unique tax implications faced by business owners.

He works with many successful northeast Ohio businesses and entrepreneurs including construction, manufacturing, health care and printing companies, in developing complex and effective legal strategies to transfer family assets, minimize tax consequences and plan for the care of loved ones with special needs. Rick provides business planning, asset protection planning, business formation, tax and succession planning advice tailored to their unique financial situations.

In addition, Rick often represents landowners in negotiating, reviewing and auditing oil and gas leases in Ohio’s Utica Shale region through Day Ketterer’s Royalty Verification Program. He also works with landowners, farmers and others in the Utica region who have earned large sums of money through oil and gas leases and are looking to preserve their wealth through wills, trusts, guardianships and other estate planning techniques.

He joined Day Ketterer in 1999 having previously practiced law in the firm of Ross, Kendig & Arnold, Ltd., in Canton. Prior to his legal career, Rick worked as a CPA with a Big Eight Accounting Firm.
